Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, on Tuesday (July 14, 2026), launched the Tamil Nadu Health Foundation’s online portal ‘Nalam TN’ in Chennai. He also inaugurated buildings and modern medical equipment worth ₹139.47 crore in various hospitals. Further, Mr Vijay handed over appointment orders to 751 Assistant Medical Officers and 1,393 Health Inspectors (Grade II) selected by the Medical Services Recruitment Board (MRB).

During an event at the Presidency College campus, the Chief Minister launched the ‘Nalam TN’ portal (www.tnhealthfoundation.org) of the Tamil Nadu Health Foundation. The portal would facilitate transparent and accountable contributions from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of companies, organisations, alumni of government medical colleges and individual donors for upgrading infrastructure and procuring advanced medical equipment in government hospitals across the State.
Mr. Vijay also inaugurated health infrastructure and equipment at Kilpauk Government Medical College Hospital, Government Headquarters Hospital at Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district, additional buildings at Avudaiyarkoil, Nilakottai, Batlagundu, Pattiveeranpatti, Kariapatti, and 78 newly-constructed Primary Health Centres and Health Sub-Centres across various districts through video-conferencing.

According to an official release, C.C. Parthiban, chairman, and Vivek Parthiban, vice chairman, of Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd., handed over a cheque for ₹1 crore, and Krishnan Akhileswaran, group chief financial officer, and V. Naveen, chief executive officer, of Apollo Hospitals handed over a cheque for ₹1 crore, R. Prabhu, CSR coordinator, and Hariharan, senior manager, of Titan Engineering and Automation Ltd., Hosur, handed over a cheque for ₹60 lakh from their respective companies’ CSR funds to the Chief Minister during the event.
S. Sathya, a resident of Chennai, who gave birth at the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Government Hospital for Women and Children in Egmore, two years ago, donated ₹1,000.
